I have persians and am tired of paying for a groomer to cut their hair. I like them to stay short haired so they don’t shed and stay cool. Plus, they look cool and when a cat looks cool you know they feel popular when they play with the other kitties on the block! hehe
So, my question is…does anyone have a suggestion for the best clippers (cordless & quiet, no so scary/aggressive) that I can find on the internet, preferably affordable as well? Needs to quickly and quietly get through a mane of persian hair without over heating or scaring my little fur balls!

You’re wrong in thinking shaving a cat’s coat makes it cooler. Their fur insulates them from both heat and cold so they can actually be WARMER once you shave their coats. Cat skin is very thin – you should never be trying to do this yourself.
You allow PERSIANS to free roam outdoors? That’s a bit ridiculous. They’re definitely not a breed meant to be allowed to be outdoors – not that it’s safe for any cat. They’re very laid back and trusting and can quickly become victim to loose dogs, cruel kids or coyotes. That and their thick coats quickly become a tangle of dirt and plant matter.
Rather than shave down these poor cats’ coats I think the best thing for them would be for you to rehome them with someone that will allow them to keep the coats they were meant to have and who will comb them daily to keep them mat free. Shame on you.

When I cut my hair the barber always asks me what level clippers I want. I know it usually rangers between 1-6 where I cut my hair. Which level will leave my hair longest? Is it 1-6, 6 being giving me the shortest haircut?Or is it the opposite with 6 giving me a haircut that doesn’t take much length off?
1 = 1/8 of an inch
2 = 1/4 of an inch
3 = 3/8 of an inch
4 = 1/2 of an inch
5 = 5/8 of an inch
6 = 3/4 of an inch
So a size 6 would leave your hair the longest.
I purchased a set of Wahl hair cutting clippers and I’m about to use them. But should i use them when my hair is soaking wet, kind of damp, or when its completely dried?

I was wondering about hair clippers and all those numbers with them. I went to the barber and he asked what number. I said 3, i know that from past experience because i know what hair style i like but is it possible for clippers with a number 3 guard on it to cut hair shorter? And my facial hair trimmer came with guards two and its the same deal with that. BEST ANSWER = 10 POINTS

A number 3 guard should give you the same length each time it’s used the only variable is if the blades have a tapper adjustment but that shouldn’t make much difference. If you want it shorter asked for a lower guard. Good luck
groomer cut my dog with clippers
She cut him on his bottom and I just worry about him getting sick. He can’t stop licking at it, even to take a walk and it’s right on his anus.
You an put a little neosporin on the wound. It is ok if the dog licks at it. It will help to keep infection at bay. depending on the location of the wound, allow it to air dry and the dogs licking is actually beneficial. Nature takes its course. I would definently discuss this issue with groomer. If it is interfering with its ability to urinate or deficate…Call your vet immediately. From what you have wrote, I would definently have the vet look at it immediately. High risk of infection due to locaton. Very painful area because it is full of nerves. Your dog is suffering if it cannot subside from licking. Hope all is well.
